COURSE INFORMATION

Vilamoura, the town, marina and golf courses require some little introduction. This vast area of land has been developed as one unified project by Lusotur. Whist plots for individual houses and building have been sold off to smaller developers the core facilities remain under the companies central control. Vilamoura is the only development site that we know  of in the Algarve that does not suffer from untidy development and roadside tipping of builders rubbish
Development of this vast area was never going to be an overnight happening. As the town has grown Lusotur has added new facilities, and that includes golf courses. Vilamoura 1 is now a mature course. The umbrella pines have closed in on the fairways and there is shade to enjoy on the hottest of days. By comparison the 9 hole courses of Vilamoura 3 have an open aspect which carries echoes of Florida links. The open vistas across the course belie the need for precision to avoid feeding the fish.

Access to the courses is not a problem as Lusotur have provided a good level of signs to all the facilities on the area. However, even if staying at Vilamoura you will need a hire car or taxi, so large is the area covered by this new town.
